The location on Rosenbergstraße

Rosenbergstraße runs along the southern part of the Heilbronn city centre as part of the historic inner-city ring. Together with the parallel Südstraße and Oststraße it forms the transition from the medieval lanes of the old town to the late-19th-century residential areas in the south.

Kiliansplatz with the Kilianskirche – the landmark of Heilbronn – is just 800 metres to the north. Heilbronn main station is about one kilometre on foot, the Experimenta science centre on the Neckar river roughly 1.2 kilometres. The entire old town, Fleiner Straße shopping street and the Neckarbogen quarter (built for the 2019 Federal Garden Show) are all within walking distance.

Right next door lies the residential quarter built by the Schwarz Group in 2019 on the former KACO site – it gave the area its modern character and provides good infrastructure with a restaurant, underground parking and inner courtyards. Our apartments benefit from this upgrade without being part of the complex itself.

The S4 light rail connects Heilbronn main station to the entire Heilbronn-Neckarsulm business region within minutes, including the Schwarz Group, Audi and the Dieter Schwarz Foundation Bildungscampus.

1,500 years of history right outside your door

When you check in to our apartments on Rosenbergstraße, you are literally staying on a piece of early European history. In 1901 the archaeologist Alfred Schliz discovered the famous "Bone Casket of Heilbronn" in this very street – an ornately carved reliquary from the late 5th century, found in an Alemannic woman's grave. With its Christian symbols (Chi-Rho monogram, Alpha and Omega), the find is considered one of the earliest pieces of evidence of Christian faith in the Alemannic region east of the Neckar. The same grave contained a silver spoon inscribed "POSENNA VIVAS" – an ancient blessing.

But Rosenbergstraße has a second, completely different story: since 1973 it has been home to the Rosenberg High-Rise, a 58-metre residential tower with 24 storeys designed by architects Ernst and Helmut Schaal. It was built during the era when Heilbronn was positioning itself as the regional capital of the Franconia area, and was one of the few large private projects of the time. Locals initially nicknamed it "the living machine" – today it stands as an iconic landmark and marks the architectural turning point that led the city council to reject any further high-rises in Heilbronn's city centre.

The immediate surroundings were long shaped by the former KACO industrial site (Kupfer-Asbest-Co.), a major automotive supplier whose grounds were bordered by Süd-, Cäcilien- and Rosenbergstraße. Since 2019, the modern Rosenberg-Quartier of the Schwarz Group has been rising on this site – dramatically upgrading the neighbourhood. Rosenbergstraße today combines 1,500 years of history with contemporary urban architecture – a rare blend of past and present, right on your doorstep.
